Plant update on the 4ft tank & fertiliser

The first lot of pictures I uploaded of this tank it looked pretty empty, so i’m doing a plant update.

I just want to show what the tank looks like two weeks later with a lot more plants in it. I bought a lot of vallis, and some other stem type plants that have a red tinge to them that looks really nice. I need to ID them.

The fish are too fast to get a clear photo of them, I was only focusing on the plants.

I’m normally quite good at keeping plants, without using any types of fertilisers. My plants just always thrive. Aside from some baby tears I had that fell apart. But, to get these grass like plants to send out more runners and keep them going I have bought some fertiliser.

Easy Life Fertiliser
I wrote the daily dosage amount as it’s important not to overdose.

I chose this two pack of Easy Life Carbon Source Easycarbo & Profito. They are recommended to buy together so I bought the two bottles for just £15. I’m going to dose lightly, everyday, and it will be interesting to see the outcome.

I do want to get some more baby tears again. They are a carpet plant and are harder to grow than some others. Now that i’m nosing ferts i’ll have another go. tie it to some slate using cotton, and then burying the slate down so the roots can take hold in the substrate. It would look so nice even to just get a small carpet area.

These photos are how the plants are growing without the fertiliser. I started dosing after the photos.
