Shrimp Nano Tank Aquascape design red cherry mini

Aquascaping a Nano Shrimp Tank (12 Litres)

So the time came to do a re-scape of my little 12 litre nano shrimp tank (Above picture is still cloudy).

The main reason is that the Shrimp didn’t really take to the tank, a few died, and none of them have reproduced. So I decided to re-scape it. The main feature, a piece of driftwood, with Java Moss tied to it. I also wanted to create a lot of space.

Moss is great for shrimp, and Java moss is probably the easiest to keep alive.

I only have four shrimp left in there, and took them out one by one, before I pulled out all my plants, except for the grass-type plants. Tied the moss around the driftwood, and put it all back in, moss balls, and my Anubias.

Tank photos before and after.

  1. Hi, I have the same tank as you. I have shrimp and realy enjoy the tank. You can see a video of it on YouTube- search Plants and Fish (although not with shrimp) I realy like the site, nice design! Your scape has inspired me. Love the domain.

  2. Kieran, any update on this tank? I have a tank of the same size that i’m currently cycling, and would love to know how yours is fairing.
